Your website is GREAT! We have 2 pet pygmy goats, both girls. The were born late Spring of 2013 and we took them home in Mid-July. This is their 1st winter, and while Denver has been colder than usual this winter, the"girls" are doing fine. We love them & they love us too. You can just tell.

I have two female pygmy goats that are not sisters, but are within weeks of being the same age. They were getting along fine and at night they would huddle up together on platform and sleep. I have video cameras in barn for security. Recently the one sleeps up on platform and the other sleeps on bedding on floor in barn. I then divided platform off with divider in center with clear plastic. I figured this would give each their private space. They still play together. Whats wrong that they don't sleep together????

I got my first pygmy two years ago, and have added to the herd a couple of times now. The spring after I got Angie, I got another pygmy who was a bit younger, and two baby alpines. They have been so much fun! However, I lost my two baby boys not long after I got them, was devastated, and just a couple of weeks ago, I lost my second Pygmy, Lina. I know what it's like to lose your pets, I've loved and lost too many to count! But now, I've got two new additions!! Both are pygmy's, one a girl and one a boy - they don't yet have names, and I've had them for two weeks! :(

I am wondering if you could give me some tips on how to introduce them. I've been trying to keep them separated for a few reasons, one being that the boy is not castrated, and another being that the new girl, is rather bitchy (please excuse my language :/ ) toward my old girl Angie. They have met, a number of times, but I am afraid to keep them together. Unfortunately they spend an awful amount of time indoors, I haven't been able to build things properly, and we've just had some problems with coyotes the last couple of years unfortunately. They used to get more or less free range of the property! Now I'm afraid to let them out unattended. another part of that is that I don't really want Angie to get pregnant... I'm guessing she's about 7, and if that's the case, she's pretty old to be having babies! It's hard, cause I can't leave the little boy in the barn alone so that I could maybe give the girls some time outside, possibly unsupervised, and I don't get any unwanted pregnancies!!

I watched your videos, and was so touched by the relationship you had with your goats, they are so special, and it looks as though your guys meant the world to you. I think it would be nice to see you get some new friends! Maybe it's too soon, but it might be nice :)

Dear David,
I am so sad to hear about Henry, i looked at your website before i got my own goats which help me so much.
i was wondering if you could help me, ive lost one of my goats today i didnt know she was pregnant when i bought her and she was rushed to the vets for a c section she was only a baby herself, her kid is ok at the minute where keeping are fingers crossed, im so mad with the breeder and heartbroken shes died, the problem is our other goat is on his own and its going to be a good few weeks befor the baby can go in with him, do you think he will be ok? i know Henry was when joey died, weve been letting him out of there paddock every day and hes been coming to the house and sitting outside with our dogs but im really worrying couse hes on his own at night, do you think i should maybe try and borrow a meg lamb to go in with him or do you think he will be ok for a few weeks? i feel so sad for him hes even coming in the house with us.please help the last thing i want is for him to go down hill.
Many thanks
Shirley

Nath, UK - Saturday, 6 April 2013

I am sorry to hear the bad news. From what you have said, he lived a lot longer than the average pygmy goat which is a testament to just how much he enjoyed being alive and how comfortable he was in your care. It's wonderful that the memory of them both will live on in the website and inspire other aspiring pygmy goat owners! x
